Just three days ago, on Human Rights Day, 10 December, the UN released a video about LGBT rights and a day later it is already out of the date. With the re-instatement of Section 377 in India, the number of countries that now criminalize same-sex relationships has gone from 76 to 77.
Reaction has been swift to the Supreme Court of India’s order—recriminalizing consensual adult same sex sexual relations. In 2009 the same Court annulled the 150 year old law, commonly known as Section 377, of the Indian Penal Code.
