Prosperity for all: Ending extreme poverty

Two thirds of the world’s poorest people live in just five countries—India, China, Nigeria, Bangladesh and the Democratic Republic of the Congo—according to a new World Bank study. Extreme poverty is on the decline globally, with those who are subsisting on less than US$ 1.25 a day declining from 36% of the world’s population in 1990 to 18% in 2010. Read more
