Lessons for effective negotiations on the post-2015 agenda

When it comes to international negotiations, small island states often face a disadvantage. They may have equal voting rights within the United Nations but the reality is that wealthy countries with large delegations and easy access to sources of technical expertise have a disproportionate influence over debates and decisions. The small island states of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) are looking to overcome the disadvantage of size in the post-2015 sustainable development negotiations by working collectively. Read more
